Yeah that was just from me making a mess while filling, it has stopped... for now! Decent assortment of spare parts too, plus air filter (not pictured)
My description was "lawnmower" and that video was before I topped up the oil, it's a lot quieter now... Reckon I will have to make use of the cam chain and tensioner though. Couple more vids on the way
The oil light is a level sensor not a pressure sensor .... if its low the light will stay on .... if its super low and thin as, it will smoke out the crankcase breather The only true way to have the correct amount is to change it .... sight glass is for blind monkeys. Cam chain is a last resort ....... u remove the CCT and if u follow the correct procedure it will tell u how much tension adjustment is left on the chain. we are talking 25yr old engines ..... if it don't rattle and shake and clatter then its because its not running
Yeah will definitely change the oil & filter. Need to sort out this coolant hose crap as well. What do you reckon about FZR400/600/1000 parts? Will they fit? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YAMAHA-FZR600-FZR-COOLANT-RADIATOR-HOSES-ACCESS-/290217212899 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/91-YAMAH...NESIS-RADIATOR-COOLANT-HOSES-31-/350650835832 K&N have 2 filters for the FZR250. Which one do I need? http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=KN-303C http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=KN-303
It's definitely that hose, you can hear it hissing and feel the air/coolant escaping. I reckon it had water in it and it's boiling off. I topped up the coolant. I'm done messing with it today, got to update my list of stuff to do/order.
I just go to supercrap auto and grab a hose of similar size. Grab some fine sandpaper and get all the crap off the metal joins, nice and smooth. A tight hose clamp and mine was all good. I don't think any of my cooling system hoses (or very few of them) are OEM. oh and buy GOOD hose clamps. The $5/each ones. Anything less is usually crap.
Filters ..... http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/spin-on-oil-filters-to-suit-zxr-fzr-and-others.2391/ Some of the hoses are specific to the bike ..... to put it simply they have different diameters on each end
Thanks. Typicall automotive companies... "Unique" hoses with different sizes on each end so you can't buy a generic one!! Sent you a PM with the engine number. Still need to pull off the fairings and diagnose this leak/hissing, but I'm happy it runs for the moment
Mhmmm... bike has a 45 tooth rear sprocket... guess what that means! *bangs head against wall* Reckon I'll just get the 7mm sprocket with a 2mm splined washer
