    That's a 3ln6 or 7 switch block

Thanks for the pic, I can just unscrew the existing bracket and attach the choke to the one on the frame.

After watching a video of a valve clearance check/shim, I think I'll take the bike to a bike mechanic instead of the local guy. He did fine on my Ninja but took his sweet time... the place in Marrickville I used for the second service had the Ninja done in 2 days...

That leaking fuel hose going to carbs only leaks when the fuel tap is set to reserve. When the fuel tap is on or off, no leaks. The hose also has no clamp on it.

Coolant overflow bottle is completely full, I'll have to drain some of it.

The waiting game (Me vs. AusPost) begins...

Interesting that it has a 3LN6/7 switch block - I wonder, apart from the 3LN3 frame... how much of the bike is actually 3LN7.... probably just engine/ecu switch block that is different on 3LN7.... what else...aah the tacho...?

Exup actuator sounds ok mate, you can loosen it up with a bit of WD40 or something (I sprayed mine and it sounded a bit smoother). It may be the valve on the exhaust itself though, if you take the cables off and spin it by hand it should be relatively free spinning.

I don't think it has a 3LN7 ECU... it revs past 16,500 - I checked. Yes yes I know, change the fluids and filters first... but I had to check.

What I also checked is that it cycles through all the gears and doesn't make any strange noises... It pulls in each gear from a stationary position with no noises or other strangeness.

Just need the filter and oil pan so I change the black water out! Itching to do it. I just hope it will stop sounding like a lawnmower and more like a bike.

Since I haven't got the right tools for valve clearances (feeler gauges, shims) or time (since I plan to go to VJMC in Canberra -- March 13/14 weekend), I'll have to take it to a mechanic... I've decided to use the same guys who did my Ninja the second time round

I will definitely order two sets... but I have to crack the carbs open first, really don't want to do it as it appears they are fine

The 3LN3 bits I ordered will be sent on to @Grasshopper along with the jet kits... His original carbs are sad :(

They were *supposed* to be, but I was super smart and ordered them before I had my hands on the bike. I may still be able to use them on mine.

I need to access the radiator which means the tank will need to come off, so I will be able to get a peek at the carbs. Do you know of a way to tell what they are externally? Without pulling them to bits?

Also, who's got instructions for getting the tank off, and will I need to drain it?

Anyone know the capacity of the radiator/cooling system? I only have 1.7L of coolant left. It's not meant to be diluted (bel ray moto chill)

Sorry, I don't know any external markings that would give it away. The jet housings are different from the 3LN1 to the others and you have to get at the slide housings to see if they have the square rings for the 3LN6-7 models.

if you have a mechanic 50 metres down the road, take the carby's radiator tank etc all off and just wheel it down, save you money and him time.

Great @Stu ..... that tells me something Ive wondered for a long time
Theres no individual manuals for the 3LNs
The base is the 2KR manual with addendums added for each 3LN model

We have the 3LN1 addendum but not the others

Gosh, Yamaha certainly didn't want the tank to fly away ??? that is some serious connections there.
