Viper in the UK have silicone hoses with different diameters and they will also make one-offs.
That is where I got the hoses for my project 400 and nothing on that is standard.

Edit: If you organise a group buy then you could get full sets of silicone hoses for Fizzers and others without having to pay much.

Hmm... Blair... the engine might be a 3LN7 according to the engine number. IHX350188 (this according to PPSR. Plug in the VIN and it gives you info about the bike registration etc)

Have yet to take the tank off and confirm. Will check the frame no. when there is light out

That would be special. You would have both of the rare models then.
Yes, according to the parts book the 3LN7 started at engine number 350101.

Frame no. is 3LN-283148 which means it's a 3LN3... Engine no. says otherwise. Seems I am good at picking the 3LNSomethings.

Mystery will be solved once I remove the tank and check the engine no.

Just discovered that the front mudguard is sitting in place, the bolt tabs are broken... miracle it hasn't fallen off. Will need to fix that

Hey, look at the upside. They both are rare bikes.

Indeed, if the engine no. is right, that would mean it is bike number 47 out of the factory.

I'm more surprised that these rare ones made it to Australia

According to the parts book there are 45,900 engine numbers for the 3LN3.
9000 for the 3LN6 and I have no idea for the 3LN7
http://www.my-x15.net/FZR_INFO.html says that there may have only been 500 3LN7's made.

Yeah that's what I've been referring to.

    Frame - 3LN-283148 = 3LN3
    Engine (according to PPSR)- IHX350188 = 3LN7

PPSR might be wrong/outdated as it claims the bike has never been registered, and that's not what the RMS say.

All shall be revealed once the tank is off

Well I checked out the engine since I can't sleep (too hot)

Stamped behind the headers is... 1HX
Stamped on the engine is... wait... 350188

I do believe we have a match! (for the engine anyway)

    @GreyImport
The later carbs use that square ring that you sent to me. It seals the slide housing at the top. Maybe leaky slide housings were an issue. Also a vent o-ring is different.
    Check my cross reference.

So is this a 3LN7 engine in a 3LN3 frame?

    Today's Progress Report :dance2:

    Stripped fairings front & rear

    Identified fuel leak location

    Relocated/tightened clamp on coolant hose/pipe - no longer hissing/leaking

    Other finds:

Headlight switch block has been modified to be always-on

Seat doesn't fit properly. Battery too tall

Checked the EXUP and it's actually working with the new battery... though it does sound a bit sad. I'll try some cable lube

Oooooh! An unplugged connector! What does this belong to? All the lights work so it can't be that.

This last one I need help with. I think I have too many parts on this choke assembly. It appears that the proper choke mount is already on the frame. Can anyone share a photo of theirs?

    This week's tasks

Change oil, filter & coolant - waiting on parts to arrive (oil filter and drain pan)
    Change spark plugs
Valve clearance check/adjustment... definitely sounds out of spec

Since I have a mechanic not 50m down the road, I may get him to do the valve clearances for me since I lack the time. Now if someone (@GreyImport , wink wink nudge nudge) could find me the valve clearance specs that would be most helpful :)

Good, looks like Exup is ok, and you've sorted the coolant leak :thumb_ups:
