Cheers cal, I rubbed a **** ton of oil into them as the manual said apply, but before I put it together I may as well soak them. Pretty sure my lines in the plates are dead straight up and down. I will get you a picture. Haha royalties, I'm sure I can get you a cold one...
    One day :)

As you can see my plates have straight bits, they are identical on either side

    Status report,

I got my father in law to make me a clutch holder
    image.jpg
This screwed into the spring bolts and helped stabilise the socket as well :)
    And crack!
    Success basket out.
    image.jpg
What's this the heads snapped off of these bolts...... Well that sux.
Also you can see how out of tension this chain was the auto adjuster has gone up to max but it's still loose. I set the manual tensioner so the button of the chain was taught, pretty much fully wound out, and the bottom tensioner is now out 2 clicks.

I used the old 2 nut trick to remove the bolts
    image.jpg
Guess what? @Tim_ had already hooked me up some pretty much identical hex head screws. WIN.

And here is where I have to leave it as I can't seem to find the gasket I bought FFFFFFUUUUUU! I'm pretty deflated and furious about this!
    image.jpg
Note to self my exhaust needs some love.

I must have thrown the bloody gasket out FML, so I have ordered one thru the Kawasaki dealer, it should be here Wednesday. Then a mad dash to put it together for a shakedown to Harry's Diner....

    Great Success tonight!
I shelled out $28.19 for another gasket ( if that doesn't teach me to take better care of my stuff nothing will haha.)
My phone's mic has a weird echo but it now sounds like a sewing machine not a tractor:thumb_ups: the whine settled down after a ride :)

not a hint of slip now :p all the way to redline in first possibly other gears.
    So thats the good.

now for the bad, the clutch lever seems notchy... Anyone know what would cause that? Also it seems hard to change gear and get into neutral, lastly it really wants to keep moving even with the clutch lever pulled hard in. (its always done that) to the point that I need some brake to hold the bike in spot.... Ideas??

    That's the 750 ?
That whine doesn't sound right, sounds like something is too tight.
It's got a hydraulic clutch ? Probably start by bleeding the slave cylinder, if that doesnt work then re condition the master cylinder, if that doesn't work check the length of the push, it's the rod that is pushed from the slave cylinder through the engine to the clutch, i read someone had a worn one & it got too short but I'ts unlikey that's the problem.

Cheers, yer the 750. The whine went away when it warmed up, she was bone dry from oil before it so maybe that or something bedding in.

I was thinking slave or master cylinder as well. A quick bleed made it abit better so a more thorough one will hopefully do the trick.

If there is air in your system, then the clutch wont fully extend, try bleeding it again and make sure there are no bubbles. Most hydraulic clutch's have a small adjuster where the push rod goes in, do you have a manual ?

Looking at the picture of the clutch above it doesn't appear to have an adjuster on the outside.
    I've got a '94' & there's no adjuster on either end.
If you can get the master apart, the retainer circlip is always a pain to remove, then get a new rebuild kit. Take the cylinder to a brake shop & they'll give it a hone for you, probably won't even charge you to do it.
From what I've seen the slave cylinder is pretty bulletproof, unlikely it's leaking, there might be oil there via a small seal that hugs the pushrod, I had to replace that seal as the cavity behind the slave was full of engine oil. It's a special seal that is made to seal for a plunging action instead of a rotating motion, don't get caught & buy a genuine seal, if you do have to do it the whole side cover has to come off as it fit's from the inside & while your in that deep you would replace the drive shaft seal, it's not so bad a job if you are prepared with all the right parts like a big rattle gun to get the drive sprocket nut off cleanly.
If you can't get to a brake shop then a light hone with fine wet & dry & WD40 will do with your finger if it fit's.

    I had a. Lightbulb/:commando: Moment today.

I looked at my clutch lever which I knew was missing the 4 part adjuster and boom realised that the tiny amount extra clutch lever was what I needed to stop the clutch dragging that tiny bit.

I tested this theory with a trusty socket.
    image.jpg image.jpg
    Notice the minuscule difference below?
    image.jpg image.jpg
That bit extra means the bike doesn't try to move with the clutch in and engages gears properly :)
I love that I bought a zx7r and I have 2 zxr250s ATM as they share a lot of parts ie mirrors indicators and even lever adjusters so I pilfered one to keep me on the road but will order a new pair of levers for abit of bling :)

I also decided to look for the coolant leak as i noticed a nice burning coolant smell getting worse lately.
    image.jpg
Turns out it was a loose hose. I loosened the clamp the tiniest amount and coolant streamed out, a quick tighten and it should be sorted.

    Winning!
I am off to order my slip on pipe now :)
