Make sure you get a spare key, @kiffsta as that HISS system can't be cracked. A spare key is much cheaper than an ECU, keys and lock sets.

Oh, and rode my old bike that my buddy who bought it has loaned me until the freebie project bike he sourced for me is on the road. :thumb_ups:

Put the battery back in Sylvie after trickle charging it since Sunday. She started up nicely, so I took her up and down the cul-de-sac a few times to check how she runs. Rear brake needs work and the handlebar position is a bit off, but not bad otherwise! :D

Damn, I miss my old ZZR!

Nice work on the CBR1000R, @kiffsta

On Saturday I went to work on a bike, but my back didn't like it. So I spent the next few days building this:
    IMG_20161213_175510.jpg
A few kinks to be sorted, but looking good for something I made out of scrap.
The problem is I have 5 bikes to work on, but only one raised workspace... There's more channel, I could make more...

My mistake: 6 bikes to work on.. And 2 quads.

Well I got home yesterday after spending nearly 5 days in Brisbane.
After collecting @kiffsta and family from the airport Sunday night upon
return from Thailand, followed by collecting a CBR1000RR on Monday and
spending some time giving a good clean up, had a busy day.
Tuesday the bike got it's roadworthy and got registered, later that day Chris and I
went for a ride, rode the Honda home and realised what a fine bike it was. This machine
is a beast....the power is insane and the handling is incredible, could loose my license
very promptly if it were mine.
Prior to our short ride we popped the tank and air box off my zzr600 and balanced the carbs,
they were well out but Chris managed to get them near perfectly in zinc and the bike seemed to perform
so much better. The real test came yesterday as I fuelled the bike for the return trip home, and I am
pleased to say that it used approx. 1L per 20 K's which was astounding considering the amount used
on our last outing to Texas.
Very pleased with the outcome, happy rider :thumb_ups:

Noticed 2 problems today:(, the bike got a bit hot too easily and started running a bit rough, im sure its my coils or most likely the leads for the roughness so ill be putting my replacements on sooner rather & later,-- the reason for the overheating though is a new one for me, when the bike gets hot its seems to fill the reserve (expansion)tank how it should, but wont recover the fluid to refill the rad unless I remove the cap off the rad, anyone had an issue like that, could I maybe just need a new rad cap? Anyone replaced a zxr rad cap before ?

A radiator cap should have 3 seals: the pressure release face, the low pressure return valve (in the middle of the pressure release face) and the top flange seal. The top flange should create a seal to prevent air getting in and thus drawing coolant back from the overflow tank. I'd check the top flange seal first.

During the tea break in the Cricket I decided to change the oil in my bike.
Thought I had at least 3L in the container...............OPS only 2.5L
Luckily I had another bottle with sufficient to finish the job :D
Had done 3800K's so close enough for a change......back to the cricket:thumb_ups:

Picked it up from the shop after getting the carb synch done. I can't really hear much difference but seat-of-the-pants tells me it pulls harder, smoother and faster.
Also paid a what seemed to be a bucket-load of cash for a used replacement front wheel but, whaddya gonna do, you have to pay whatever they ask if you can't find any alternative. Mind you, it was the same colour as the original, and I really didn't expect to fluke that.
New front indicators fitted as well, so I'm back on the road. I guess there is a small risk riding with no left mirror (replacement on order) but I'm going away for a week tomorrow and I won't be taking the bike so it's very small risk.
