I am officially at my wits end. So the other block was working, and me being the perfectionist I am decided since it looked crappy on the outside, to switch it in to the other block frame to make it pretty. BAD MOVE.

Took both internals out, switched in the ones that I knew worked, plugged it in and nothing.

Righto. So grabbed the bad one, pulled it apart, cleaned up the contacts for the indicator switch. ALL contacts, contact cleaner. No dice. Did the same thing with the one that was meant to work. Nice shinny contacts. Contact cleaner. No dice. There is NO reason why I shouldn't have indicators. NONE AT ALL!

While waiting for the contact cleaner to dry I set about investigating the leaking o-ring. Found that the pipe prevents the allen key from moving to take it out, and to get clear room on the other side there is no way around it with a special bendable fitting, the carbs have to come off. Erm NO. That is NOT happening. I want to leave well enough alone especially after the switch-block debarcle. So I think I will leave it to leak. The carbs WILL be staying on!

    This is BS!

And people wonder why I like air cooled two strokes!

Re the switch block, have you checked the wires both at the switch and the connector end?
Are you getting power to the switch block?
    Is the flasher can working?

So I decided to go ahead and change the Ignition/Tank lock/Compartment lock from the other bike, to this one. At which point I dropped one allen key bit and its extension into the tank. Realising it wasn't coming out. I drove to autobran and bought a retractable claw. Got them both out first time.

Then the bike won, and I took off the carbs to replace the orings. Cleaned where the pipe goes into the block and onto the hose, put orings on, went in for the re-install, connected the top hose, then went to push the pipe exits in the block entry. But one pipe caught slightly on its entry and as I pulled it off, it went "twang" and and landed on the motor. Broken. Are you effing joking. Like, for real? A $3.50 oring down the drain and it will be a 3 day wait from tomorrow to get another. and I only have 2 more days.

    This really is BS!!!!!!

Where on earth do I find o-rings. I dont want to pay another 3.50 and wait 3 days. Well at least 3 days

Since I cant do anything on Cherry tonight, Im going to start re-assembling things on the other one, see if it can crank.

Speaking of O rings, do Bunnings have the tiny ones? I need some for my RS carbs.

    That was my next option.

Carb kits don't seem to exist for the RS these days unfortunately!

I'll look into that as a long-term option. My current work hours make it hard to get to specialty stores when they're open.

Yeah I got mine from a bearing shop today. $4 for 8 orings.

    Anyway:

I put my old plugs in last night to not get anything down the engine while pouring some oil down the bores as Kiffsta suggested, but number 3 plug was a bit tough. At first thought I thought it may have been cross-threading, pulled it out, but was a little less tough the second time, but nowhere near as easy as the others.

Pushed it out to degrease the chambers, 1, 2 fine with degreaser, 3 went straight down the gullet. 4 held out. It must have cross-threaded all the way down. I had a cross threader on number 4 on the road bike, but it would stop and not go in any further and would be on an angle. This one was dead straight.

So anyway, I shoved a rag down it, and washed out the gunk, and blew all the water out with the air hose. I just hope the small amount of degreaser wont hurt it. There is no oil in it currently (due to the sump bolt) so I threw some oil down the bitch and see if she can crank.

    Dont seem to win.......

I hooked up the loom, and battery. and a spark cam from the starter. Uh-oh that aint good. Swapped in my starter from the 2kr, (identical for future reference fellas) hooked him up, and didn't crank. Ceased. Took off the stator cover, grabbed the crack bar and started winding manually. Wouldnt budge, so I went backwards and forwards. It started to give. Then I managed to start doing full circles, with a hump at 10 o'clock. Kept winding, till the hump disappeared.

Turned ignition on, hit the starter, WHHIIIIIIIIRRRRR!. Again, WHHIIIIIIIIRRRRR!

Finally! A small win! Now its time to see if the orings are doing their stuff on cherry, and start re-assembling carbies back on fuel pump, etc.
