If you can come up with that as your obly complaint it must be running pretty great! Then lastly paint the tank to match your fairings :p

Nah, not really into John Travolta in a fat suit playing a mother......

    Oh, you mean adhesive?

I want them to come off easy they wont be on there much longer. I do have some spray adhesive.

Yeah. Tank is next on the list, Met a guy last night at maccas when I stopped for an ice cream, who also rides (my shiny gold boots always spark up a conversation), who knows a local guy who has a quick turn around paint wise with good prices. Did his 4wd for him, both local to me.....

So the list to be completed:

    -Paint tank.
    -New Grips and bar ends
-Paint second set of wheels and replace the ones on cherry.
-Service/repair/upgrade to stiffer forks. RHS leaking.
    -New fork separator.
-Buy tank rubbers. The grommets that go on the tabs under the tank so the tank fits snug on the frame.
    -Replace cluster blown cluster lights.
    -New front brake light switch.
    -Investigate why tappets are noisy.

Nothing really major. Just trouble shooting niggly stuff now.

    In a perfect world. No.

In the real. Yes. The spare tank that I got with the other bike is well and truly Foooooooked. And I dont have the cash or space to buy another tank and have it lying around.

Ok, so update. Took the bike for a 250k ride yesterday with some mates. Albiet, they were all on big cruisers, and Im on a wittle super sports.

I had a small problem with my fuel overflow rubbing on my chain, but I sorted that out and it was all good. First thing I notice, Jeez I'm rusty. With only 6 months of riding, then 4 months off, all that comfort I built up on the bike, I had lost. It wasn't till very late in the day that I started to get comfortable. So it was a good thing I didnt do glorious with the rest of you fellas. Now way I could have kept up.

But I was let loose on some easy twisties. and while it was a bit awkward, it was fun. The best part was nailing it in the lead from a standing start and redlining each gear. I think I even hit limiter in 2nd. Do these things have a limiter? It went BRRRRT at 18.5 just as I was changing.

The other thing I noticed, was this thing is goddamn fast. it kept up with their Cruisers 1100cc +++ no problems, even gained on them when they had the jump on me overtaking slow cars. And I wasnt even at full throttle. New carbs are fun!

Well, I spose its time for an update.

I have just been enjoying the bike. Riding it whenever I can. I got a new Job a few months ago in the city. And Taking the bike it takes me 40-45 mins. Car takes me north of 1hr 30 mins with a drop-off for my daughter to daycare. Anyway. One ability and reason of taking on this job was so I could have more quality time with the bike instead of my usual. 3 Streets, highway for 15 mins arrive at work and return of my other job. I ride into Brisbane and slay le trafique. Lane splitting is awesome.

But a few issues have cropped up in the 15,000 kays that I have been riding her.

Carbs are bogging down, and refuses to start under its own power if left outside overnight. Whether its hot or cold. Inside, she'll start first time. 'Ery time.

I started getting a wobble at lower speeds, and a refusal to turn on high speed corners, and a willingness to drop on low speed corners. Head Stem bearings.

    You bastard.

I persevered for a few months with it, and with finally time off a few days ago, this happened:

I had the bearings for around 2 months before putting them in. On the last day I rode it, I thougbt "no way im getting back on ths bike without changing these bearings, its dangerous" (Yes I knew beforehand, but I was actually getting scary)

Put them in, took it for a test blat and thought it was too stiff. My brothers mate who helped took it for a quick test when I raised my concerns and he said it was fine. I took it again, and it was feeling its old self. We must have tighted the nut down too far and it settled right where it should after the first workout, instead of needing to re-tighten cause it was too loose.

While I was at it, I got my spare forks rebuilt by the local bike place. That was a drama, but I wont go into that. Not entirely their fault, but I think they have now learnt to now measure seals and the like and not just go off of recommended listed replacement parts.....

So I have a new front end.

    Now I Just need to:
    Oil Change,
    New plugs, (15k old now)
Snip the end of the Cables,
    Adjust Exup cables
Fix Front Brakelight switch. (Its IS dead, contact cleaner doesnt fix it)
    Adjust Chain.
Flush Coolant system, and radiator. Its getting too hot.
    Get Carbs tuned.
Pull apart and replace lights in the cluster.
Probably do the swing arm bearings (had them sitting there since I got the bike)
Probably do the R6 Shock conversion If I can find one.
Strip and paint spare rims & put on

The last 4 things aren't important yet.

But further down the line I hope in the not to distant future:
-16 tooth Front sprocket or 59 tooth rear, of a combination that has me running out of breath at 170Kms an hour.
-Nitrous. Yes you read that right. I want to break a 13 second 1/4mile on this thing.

Which is going to be a tall order considering the fuel starvation and carb issues with these things which can lead to big engine issues with nitrous.

Do you have the adjustable front lever or the standard one? There are two different brake switches.

Ps, that front end, we might need it for Sammy the flying grasshopper, which has bent/twisted forks

It did have the adjustable 3ln3 > lever, but from all the drama that I had with the master cylinder, I threw on the spare 3ln1 one and she's worked like a champ for almost 2 years.

As for the forks, let me know. They do need a rebuild, one is leaking badly. I can get them rebuilt up here for $140, and send them down, so that way you wouldnt have to worry about that. Just throw em in.

    Ok, so more progress.

I decided to change the plugs. I have been dreading this.

Number 2 has an issue with cross-threading. And My mates brother had a handy little trick for putting in the plug. Put two cuts into the plugs thread by hacksaw to help clean it up. And it worked a treat, but with the next plug you never know. Usually with threads, you can only get away with a trick once, then its back to its old ways and toast thereafter. So i pulled the rest out and put back in with ease with radiator removed. But number 2 would get very stiff on the way down. But I carefully persevered. Filled coolant back up, and she didn't want to start. At all, button or roll. Re check leads. Still nothing.

Begrudgingly pulled 2 out. Replaced with old number 2. Fired first time.

Unsatisfied with just 3 new plugs, I went for newey again. And success. But I think that's the last plug going in without the head coming off.

    Dropped oil.

Grabbed my spare leads to do trail snip to the plug leads. And it doesn't work. No, really it doesn't. After I seperated and clipped, I went to try and re-screw with plug end onto the lead. Ha! I honestly feel the images of @GreyImport are doctored. No way they fit back on. And my thumbs will attest to it. I was trying so hard I started to separate my thumbnails from the quick. And that hurts. So I gave up on the idea. I already messed around once with the spark sides of things that I thought would give me grief. Which it did. I only did because it had to be done. Im not going to try for something and stuff it in the interest of making it better. It runs so, Im leaving it.

In speaking of it runs, don't make it better:

So in my relentless strive for perfection, I decided to pull the cluster apart to change faulty globes. And came out the other side with all globes still together (as in not blown) and now no cluster globes work. At all. Indicator, oil, High beam, and N all work. But no cluster lights.

Through contact cleaner down the plugs. Still nada.

Need to find my other cluster to plug in to see if its cluster wiring or bike wiring. Of which cluster is in neither of my spare parts boxes. Found everything else. Literally everything else. But no cluster. A serious WTF moment.
