Errrrm, I did think a separate thread, but it may all come to nothing, look, if you feel that way, I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Post it up in a minute.

I actually did in the beginning. Number 4 or 1, whichever way you look at the bike.

Which reminds me, Which one IS 1???

    Well update.

Yesterday was D-Day. The girlie wanted "her" garage back today.

So started off finish up the wiring for the headlights taking the proper plug for the twin headlight version off the single and refitting it to my double tidied all that up. Refitted the cooling pipe (no issues this time) carbs and all back on. Then came the fuel pump. Oh jeez.

I had a 3ln one sitting from when I bought parts a while back with other spares. Plugged it in and it ran. Threw it in, and forgot which was in line and which was out. So grabbing a small bowl of petrol, I tried to figure out which one was which, and I found out it wasn't working. Grabbed the old 2kr one (how many times has that bike come to the rescue now?) and found the lines easier to put on, cause they are smaller and tested that one. Success! Plumbed that all up.

I grabbed the spare bikes air box and found it to be in better condition. Cleaned it up, fitted my carb boots (probably the best condition thing on the bike!) plugged it on. But I found this between air filters. The red one is cherry's:

Stole the breather lines off the spare bike and FINALLY under my seat is complete! Breather lines, full OEM fuel setup, stock battery strap (brand new) and fuse box lid!

It's these things I am very picky for:

Then I replaced the Flasher relay from the bike, which resulted in: INDICATORS. Looks like it has been a combination of switch block/relay/loom issues for this problem. But the relay seems to stick for a second on startup. I will post up a vid later for clarity.

So all done, all completed. Then I did something VERY foolish. I put the fairings on didn't I?

The plan was to bolt every thing back up and take it for a shakedown out to my brothers.

Now I had started it earlier and found it wasnt running quite right. But i put this down to not being started in awhile. After all She is a bit temperamental, little Cherry. With a little flooding and surging. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Don the riding gear, floods on start up, clutch start it down my steep driveway, throttle clears, picks up power, then dies. My then does this back up the street. And it wants to die. Then fires up, so I return to the garage deflated.

Then I flash back. I got the same fuel from the same place when I had crap fuel last time!

Albiet it could be the new pump overloading the needle and seats. If it's the fuel, I'm gonna be pissed, if and overload to the carbs, I'm gonna be MORE pissed. Ugh.....

if you can get hold of a low pressure fuel gauge - check that pump is only putting out 10kpa i.e 1.4psi - they are incredibly low pressure as the floats get overwhelmed so easily

    peace out

Well, I went to see if I could get her to run yesterday.

Tried with different fuel. Same problem.

Tried with pump off. A little better. Still same problem.

    Flood> Clears - Powerrrrrrr>Flood - Stop> Clears.......

And tappets, oh my god. I put oil in it the other day cause it was low, and that has made no difference.

Thing was the night before I started all this (for indicators I might ad) the bike was running fine, no tappet noises, no flooding and power issues, and was running fine.

Now tappets, flooding and runs rough.....

But I didnt touch anything to cause problems! Carbs off, on, everything sealed right.

No reason the bike shouldnt run right.

    Its just :commando::commando::commando::commando:

Ok, This damn bike has been out of action for..... Shyte, 4 months. 4 months of rego down the gurgler. Awesome!

So a few weeks ago I bought the Litetek kit for the bike. Dropped it off to a local engineer & mechanic who Ive become pretty chummy with. Who (if you read the very first post, you know the one with the bike shop that killed my 2KR) used to work with for the bloke and also got the raw end of the stick. He's a regular at work, and remembered me from when I dropped it off. We always have a bit of a chat when he comes in. So when I mentioned the whole carb problems, he said, "Once you get the orings, bring em round, and I'll rebuild 'em for you, at mates rates"

So I called him up wednesday afternoon and dropped them off (both mine and the defunct trackers carbs) and they should be done by the weekend, but I'be arranged to pay for the wednesday. (Christmas a day early!). When he told me how much he wanted to rebuild them, I almost fainted! Cause it was too low, and I offered him more! I couldn't let him rebuild them so cheap.......

    So basically in one sentence:

Carbs dropped off at a mates place, should have them back by Wednesday.

Nah, not much fun in that is there??

Alrighty, Time to revisit the list

-Oil and filter, (will be done after Christmas)
-Fix indicator problems, Done (Need a new Relay or two)
-New front brake light switch. (Still gotta get that! Contact cleaner didnt work)
-Find, diagnose, and fix coolant leak. (Done, by the looks of it)
    -Get temperature sender working. (Done!)
-Order fuel line (the pre bent one from Yammy) and put pump back on. (NLA so used normal fuel line)
-New grips and bar ends. (Yeah, get to that later)
-Service/repair forks RHS leaking. (Same here)
    -New fork separator. (Same here)
-Buy tank rubbers. The grommets that go on the tabs under the tank so the tank fits snug on the frame. (Will be posting up a thread on this later.)
-Investigate why tappets are noisy. May need a tappet cover gasket ($68)

OK, so carbs are back, and so is my smile.

The carbs look mint after they were rebuilt (sorry, should of taken a picture). And it goes like stink. No hesitation. Just endless revving!

Best $200 Ive ever spent! 100 odd for the seal kit, 100 for the rebuild. Winning! Time to clean everything up and put it back on and ride!

I think he might have a few more customers judging by the no. of Fizzers people are buying! Did you use the Litetek kit?

Yup both litetek kits for the carbs to give it an entire overhaul. So pretty much brand new carbs.

Also bought the tank seal and petcock oring.

I immediately thought of @GreyImport and his problems. May be an idea to send them up here!

Its great having 2 modes of transport again:

Took the bike on a 40km shakedown ride to see if all is working well. It is, only thing is, grips keep slipping. Need to get on that. Proabably 2 small dabs of superglue just to hold it in place, and not so hard to get off when new ones come.
