Run into a problem today as i went to change plugs and warm up engine for oil change and was not getting any spark on all 4 leads, i was getting spark on 1-4 and then went to check 2 and nothing tried 1 and 4 then nothing on them, i do have a dodgy ignition barrel where if have bars all way to left no power but if i move wires underneath ignition barrel around i get power, so i dont know if that plays a factor in this, i have also trimmed down leads to expose better wire but this was before getting no spark but thinking i might buy some new leads anyways. Just seeing if anyones had similar problem

Time for an update proud to say i have her running with new plugs, after much reading i think i found the answer, i knew it wasnt coils as its very unlikely for them to go at the same time, and read somewhere someone saying hit junction box in which i did and thank f*ck for that i had spark again after getting everything back together and going through two full batterys i have her running again, just ran some kero through oil as its pretty black, have everything all bolted up, hopefully junction box doesnt want to play games and f*ck up again, but will let it sit with some kero for abit run her again drop oil and put some new good oil in her

Solinoid is fine, i think junction box has a problem as i get no spark but bike will turn over but when i hit junction box i get spark, but should have it all worked out soon enough some more testing and maybe some new parts and she will be all right

I think ignition barrel is causeing some problem too as it has a broken or dodgy connection and ill have no power or have power depending where the ignition barrel wire is

Okay new problem has occurred i have no head lights at all on zxr, brake lights all work, blinkers work, dash lights work but i have no high beam or low beam and when i put on high beam it doesnt show on dash, ive changed fuses even though nothing was wrong with them, sanded connections in headlight switch and passing switch but no go only thing i can think that would be cause problems is headlight relay in junction box what do use think? I would use a multimeter but my dads missplaced it somewhere

Sounds like you have an open circuit. Check the connections to the headlight bulbs, and the bulbs themselves. If they're good then try replacing the relay.

Bit of Inox on all the electrical connectors can help with corrosion.

Sprayed junction box connections, then where the headlights connect to loom might have to take tank off spray where igntion connects if not ill have to find and borrow a junction box and see how that goes havent got inox but have wd40 which is next best thing, just fixed my low beam issue on my mc22 as they didnt work but high beam did and thoughted id check zxr, this bike really likes playing games with me ahah

Okay head light problem solved turned out you have to start bike to check if they work, got to stop thinking the bikes like a mc22 as lights turn on when ignition is on, feel like an idiot now ahahah so all electrical problems are solved for now just need to crimp connection on a blinker and find a neautral switch, still need help on the fork compressor if anyone knows or have use just sent it to a mechanic to have them mess with it? Also need a rear tire as its pretty well ****** but front is brand new looks like its only been rolled around on not ridden, might need front rotars but will buy a micrometer to check and then its just bleeding the brakes and testing them, not to far to go but she will be looking beautiful soon enough

    Hi Jack,

MY ZXR250A colour scheme below; might be different from C model, but gives you something. Not sure about fork compressor as I've never had to do any work on them (yet).

    Cheers
