From what i can tell via part numbers the clutch steel plates and the frictions are the same, so are the springs and pressure plate, but the baskets are different and some bearings so depending what parts you bought it should be ok if its just plates and springs
Well, something went wrong somewhere> I did do a bit of research a while back and was told that both the A and C friction plates and springs were the same. So I ordered the clutch, got them today, soaked them in fresh oil for a few hours and when it came to installing them I noticed something bad. I don't think the clutch I received is even for a ZXR-250. Even if it did fit in the basket, the clutch is too big to spin in the case. I installed the new springs anyway and measured up the width of my friction plates and they're about .5mm below the service limit and are in dire need of replacement. I also noticed that I have 2 steel plates in between each friction plate, and I don't know if that's normal. -EDIT- I've just messaged the Ebay seller to see what he has to say. I think I should just go out and buy a full rebuild kit, but I cannot seem to find one.
Is that the 'Walker' plate and spring kit? The exact same thing happened to me. Even soaked mine as well before i realised I messaged the seller and they sent the right ones.
Maybe they'll realise they're sending the wrong ones when a couple more people message them with plates that are too big There is a big difference in price between these and ebc. For me it was worth the gamble. I took it easy for the first couple of hundred to break it in. The grip now is excellent, I can do wheelies without problem. I think longevity will be the only issue. Just have to see how long it lasts
might see what the ebc kits are priced at locally and do it in the near future, i got some ebc pads and after 2000k's they still look brand new.
I was hoping I'd find a clutch kit here in Australia, but the only kits I can find are either in the US, UK or China. Mine is well and truly under the service limit. I tried searching the part number and I got results for a KLR250, maybe they used the same clutch?

Well. The clutch is being sorted. Now for the last problem. I know thesenold ZXRs had some can chain rattle, but how much is too much? I have a video of the rattle.
Sounds exactly like mine did before I replaced the tensioner - used to run fine but goddamn it was noisy
its really hard to tell off a video, if i video mine it will probably sound the same but i know the cam chain and tensioner is fine, you can take the rocker cover and see if the cam chain is loose or take out the tensioner and check it out.
It's been a while since I did an update on Eva. The Ebay seller I bought the clutch from hasn't responded and I think I might have to report him. The cam chain and tensioner is a bit of a weird issue. I took off the clutch cover and I could see the tensioner and the cam chain in there, I slowly started to crank the engine and noticed that at some spots the cam chain is firm and at others, the cam chain is loose. I think I might as well replace both of them anyway. Other than that, she runs pretty smooth.
Truly an epic soundtrack, good thing you live in a country town lol. I'll have to do a no muffler ride on the zx7r.
Maybe try send them another message. They were a little slack on communication with me too. They did sort it out for me though
Well, he did respond when I sent him a few messages so I've gone ahead and just filed a paypal dispute. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to replace the cam chain and tensioned because the bike is really starting to make some strange noises. I found this, But I have no idea what a Pean Clip is. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CAM-CHAI...-1999-ZXR250-NINJA-1988-to-1996-/131338251544 Also I cannot seem to find a cam chain tensioner, does anyone have one laying around?
