Tie down strap over a rafter to the handle bars will help with the lack of paddock stand issue. Just hook it all up and lift the bike off the ground with the strap and remove the wheel.

I dont even have a rafter or milk crates ha ha. I did take the wheel off it was extremely tightened on it was hindering the free rotation of the wheel. the bearings were free tho I put grease in them tho just to be sure the axel bolt wasnt grooved. The discs are fine the brakes arent catching. When I put it back together I only tightened it until the play was gone out of the wheel which hindered the free rotation slightly when I backed it off slightly even play came back into it so I had to leave it tight enough to keep the play out of it but loose enough that the wheel could spin some what freely.

After all this said and done the bike will free wheel way better now lol but the sawing grinding noise is still there it must be the chain?

Thats good with the starting :thumb_ups:

Heres the front wheel setup .... #13 is a 'spacer ' ..... is that there?
#4 is a black dust seal that fits into the wheel on top of the bearing.

Yep I must have flooded it with throttle or something the other day when the panic was on, yep I have that spacer, also have the dust covers on both sides. Where the speedo goes the tab thing and washer were a bit rusty but the bearing was fine and that. Hopefullymy chain will arrive tomorrow. I must price a torque wrench in town and see if I can scrape enough together to buy the new clutch this week!

Did anyone ever have the same sawing grinding noise like I have and it was the chain? Im half bricking it that something else is wrong

Check your rear wheel bearings when you have it out to fit sprocket.
Would be interested to hear the story of why you had to start and get away in such a hurry.

    Grey is right onto it
    Sounds like somethings missing
You should be tightening the front nut up tight as
Don't ride it if that nut is backed off !
Speedo drive forms a spacer on one side & theres a std spacer on the other
Have you teplaced the chain yet
I remember seeing the front sprocket in a pic & it looked in good nick, make sure both sprockets are in alignment, can you see any metal filings on either sprockets stuck in the crud or on the rim

By looking at the diagram grey put up I have everything ill take a picture later, its not backed off much but its not king kong tight either but theres an allen key to keep it from falling out at any rate ha ha. My chain still not here yet its a pain the sprockets are good but the chain has some hotspots and gets very tight when going around and is a 520 not a 428. I didnt check the alignment of the sprokets just the back wheel last time.

Yea that story isnt very interesting until the bike wouldnt start ha ha

I would like to avoid yamaha they are miles away from me and charge silly money for things. I have this part number but not sure is it correct 46X-12410-00 its for a 96 I think

You can fit a Tridon TT239-180 (82c) in there, you just have to crush the supports underneath a little. Do it on a vice. I doubt you have a Bursons Auto Parts in Ireland though, but your local shops should have them. The 2 big retail stores, supercheap auto and auto one, did not have them on the shelf.

I saw that on one of my searches. I dont even have a vice im very poorly equipped for these mechanical disasters :( my thermo is def stuck open my temp gauge barely lifts to 1/4 at best. Unless its sat there for ages. Is an original hard to get? I have this part no but its for a 96 46X-12410-00 dont know if it is the same

Wouldn't know about an original as I never looked it up. If you don't have a vice, then vice grips will do, but a bench vice is a lot more stable

    Have u tested your thermostat?

Just toss it in water on the stove and boil the water

Temp gauge at ΒΌ seems reasonable to me.

Have u flushed out the coolant and put in some good stuff?

Theres 2 small bolts on the front of the head u undo to let the coolant flush out from around the head

Hold off on the angle grinder for a bit ......:minigun:

I havent but on a hot day riding it barely goes up, I thought it should be in the middle of the gauge? I know the gauge and fan work anyway but only if its sat up for ages ticking over, the guy who had my bike charged me for a coolant change so im guessing I should be good there

Half way is high and indicates cooling system or potentially a head gasket issue. Above half is the danger zone, if it's that high when you're moving, airflow is keeping it there. As soon as you stop moving the temp will rise. If it gets to the read or very close you have a high chance of cooking your engine.

My bike sits at about 1/4 after a good run. Anything above the break in the line indicates the bike is up to temperature and the thermostat should be open.

Check the overflow tank and top off the radiator if you need to. Distilled water is fine if its just a top up.

CMSNL.com is a good reference place but prices are high & we pay dearly for postage
My first port of call is ebay, there are others on here that have good sites for parts.
A new cush drive will make a big difference & with a new chain & sprockets it'll feel like a new bike

I found them on fowlers 1KT-25364-00 they just say damper on the website. I need 6 of these? Roughly 62 euro delivered. He told me my front wheel is to tight to back it off a bit also it will crush the bearing. Id hope it will be like a new bike as it feels like ive spent enoughto have one
