Well that's good, Kiffsta confirming that it was from a running bike, so that leaves trigger or wiring from trigger to TCI unit.

Hahaha if I sold someone a dodgy cdi I tell you what I wouldn't want to be stuck on the phone to them for hours tracing wires with a multimeter lol.

I'll take a look over it but it's getting damn close to mechanic again.

Dude, forget the mechanic. Take it to an auto electrician if you want to throw more $ at it.

Or be consistent with your approach and maybe we'll be able to help you :prankster:

    I've checked everything.
These coils intrigue me. Can anyone say for certain that they have pulled one lead out of a 91 mc22 and seen a spark come from it?
I actually got the starter motor to cut off twice today, how would the cdi know to cut off if the plugs didn't tell it to? Is there another sensor in there?
After today's endeavors I know the coils are fine, the leads and lead plugs are fun, the connection from the coils to the pig tail is fine, the connection to the pig tail to the cdi is fine, the kill switch is fine, the stand is fine, the battery is fine, the pickup coil is fine, the connection from the pickup to the pig tail is fine, the connection from the coils pig tail to the cdi is fine, the reg/rec is fine, the cdi is fine.

Maybe there is a spark, but I am not checking for it correctly?

Oh I forgot, I also changed the spark plugs today as well.

And I forgot not one fuse is blown lol.

with the plugs you took out connect one to a plug lead and earth the plug onto the motor. in the dark have a friend wind the motor over and look for blue flashes. if so you have spark.

No mod, i did actually buy a 3.3k resistor yesterday to do the mod though just in case the speedo restrictor has failed.

"with the plugs you took out connect one to a plug lead and earth the plug onto the motor. in the dark have a friend wind the motor over and look for blue flashes. if so you have spark."

Never been able to get a spark using that method of checking.

Just a question for various owners. Do you get a spark as you switch the engine on/off? In the olden days, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, transistorised ignitions would fire a spark when you did that,

Have you bypassed it? Seriously? Sorry to harp on about it but I think you have a simple problem.

An age old, well proven troubleshooting technique is called "what has changed?". You turned the bike off, kicked down the side stand (ie switch) and walked away. When you came back, it wouldn't start. So what changed? Electrical things rarely just drop dead, you'll usually start seeing some sort of symptom first.

And I'd be wanting a keg. Plus one delivered to Phil too. For the heck of it lol

    Darren! Tell him his dreaaaaming.
How about we put it down to odds.
I think that only 2 wires come from it (up or down/connected not connected) I can't see any purpose of a third wire or anything complex. Now here's what we know the light still indicates whether it's up, or down. Further to that we know that it's bypassed if the bike is in neutral. Even a step further I have des connected plugs that might have been the side stand but still no spark.
That being said, I'm not ruling it out. If it is the side stand you get a supreme pizza lol.

Chop twist together and check just cut them a bit up so u can put a inline crimp to rejoin to plug
